Mitochondria are small organelles present in large numbers in almost all cells of the body. They contain enzymes (which accelerate the reactions of converting food into energy) linked in a complex chain: the respiratory chain, which produces ATP (a molecule that contains energy in chemical form).

Our Actions
The A.M.Mi Association (Association against Mitochondrial Diseases) is committed to supporting families affected by mitochondrial diseases and their loved ones. These rare, often complex diseases require comprehensive support, addressing both medical and personal aspects.

The AMMi
Founded in 1998, the AMMi’s mission is to build a network of patients to support and advance Research. Our goal is to one day achieve therapies for all.
Currently, over 530 families are impacted by these diseases.

Take Action
With public and private organizations, for better adaptation of social security systems.
Promote Information
Medical teams who may be in contact with these families and, to the extent possible, materially assist researchers.
Inform patient families about the state of scientific advancements and knowledge.
Contribute to Research
Through the purchase of equipment for researchers and financial support for numerous scientific projects.

Welcome to the A.M.Mi website
Since 1998, the association has pursued a clear mission: to support families affected by mitochondrial diseases and advance research. These diseases are rare, complex, sometimes silent... but they strike hard, everywhere, and often without warning. In the face of them, we have chosen to respond with solidarity, science, and human commitment.
